2012 NFL Mock
October 4th 2011 00:10
Thanks for checking out my 2012 NFL mock draft. This version of my 2012 mock was written on September 26th 2011 and I am making a guess at the drafting order. Please feel free to heap praise or insults on me in the comments below.
I need to clear up some things before you read my 2012 NFL mock draft. No I don’t smoke crack, my parents were not related and I didn’t write this in an AA meeting. Some people would rather you slap their mother than that disagree with their mock draft.
1 Seattle Seahawks- Andrew Luck QB- Stanford
Luck may well use his last year of eligibility to leverage a trade to the team of his choice. But if he comes out and does not force a trade, then the Seahawks will grab him.
2 Indianapolis Colts- Matt Barkley QB-USC
Whether Peyton Manning comes back or not the Colts have learned the value of quarterbacks and will take the best on available.
3 Minnesota Vikings- Matt Kalil OT- USC
Should the Vikings pick first they will take Luck even though they drafted a QB in 2011. But I think they fall to third and take the best offensive lineman in the 2012 NFL draft.
4 Kansas City Chiefs-Justin Blackmon WR- Oklahoma State
Dwayne Bowe will be a free agent and even if the Chiefs resign him the team will need some more help at the spot.
5 Cincinnati Bengals- Trent Richardson RB- Alabama
The Bengals could go quarterback here but I think Richardson is the best fit since Beason could end up in prison at any time,
6 Miami Dolphins- Landry Jones QB-Oklahoma
The Dolphins have been looking for a quarterback since Dan Marino retired. Jones will be the next to try it.
7 Denver Broncos- Quinton Couples DE-UNC
If John Fox is still in charge he will go defense and Couples is the best D lineman in the 2012 NFL draft.
8 Carolina Panthers- Jared Crick DT-Nebraska
The Panthers need defensive linemen and Crick is a beast that will help the team for the next 10 years.
9 Tennessee Titans- Alshon Jeffery WR- South Carolina
The Titans add a deadly weapon to go with Britt or to replace him if needed.
10 St. Louis Rams-Vontaze Burfict LB-Arizona State
The Rams get a fired up and mean linebacker to help out their poor defense.
11 Arizona Cardinals Riley Reiff OT-Iowa
I think the Cardinals are going all in to help their offense and it starts on the line.
12 Washington Redskins- Alfonzo Dennard CB-Nebraska
My 2012 NFL mock draft has the Redskins taking the best corner on the board but they could go QB or Wideout here.
13 Jacksonville Jaguars-Michael Floyd WR-Notre Dame
The Jags continue trying to fix their wide receiver position.
14 Cleveland Browns - Luke Kuechly LB- Boston College
The Browns will like this tough backer when playing the Steelers every year.
15 Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Jeff Fuller WR-Texas A&M
Fuller gives Freeman a big, fast target.
16 Chicago Bears- Dre Kirkpatrick CB- Alabama
Dre Kirkpatrick would be a day one starter for the Bears and makes the most sense at this point in my 2012 mock NFL draft.
17 Pittsburgh Steelers- D.J. Fluker OT-Alabama
If Fluker falls this far the Steelers will be on him faster than James Harrison on a ball carrier.
18 Dallas Cowboys-Mike Adams OT- Ohio State
You can never have enough quality linemen and Adams will fit well here.
19 San Francisco 49ers- Brandon Jenkins DE-OLB- Florida State
The 49ers need a pass rush and Jenkins can help out with that.
20 Oakland Raiders- Stephon Gilmore CB- South Carolina
The Raiders will like his speed and return ability.
21 New York Giants- Jayron Hosley CB- Virginia Tech
Hosley adds depth and return skills to the Giants who need both going into 2012.
22 New York Jets- Donte Paige-Moss LB- UNC
Ok letting Paige-Moss slip so far in my 2012 NFL mock may have been a mistake but he did and the Jets will snatch him up.
23 Philadelphia Eagles-Kelechi Osemele OG-OT- Iowa State
The Eagles will take the best lineman on the board here.
24 Baltimore Ravens- Jerel Worthy DT- Michigan State
The Ravens could go WR here but I think they take Worthy.
25 Detroit Lions- Zach Brown LB- UNC
The Lions continue to add to a nasty defense in my 2012 NFL mock draft.
26 Buffalo Bills- Ryan Broyles WR- Oklahoma
Broyles can give the Bills a nice target and also help the return teams.
27 Cleveland Browns (from Atlanta) David DeCastro G- Stanford
DeCastro could play guard or tackle and help out the Browns offense at this spot.
28 Houston Texans- Kheeston Randall DL- Texas
May be a reach here but the Texans could use Randall on their defensive line. He would make a good 3-4 end.
29 San Diego Chargers- Juron Criner WR-Arizona
Bit of a reach but he is a tall physical wideout in the mold that San Diego loves. Could be a steal.
30 New Orleans Saints- Morris Claiborne CB- LSU
To compete with the Packers and eventually the Panthers, New Orleans needs multiple good defensive backs.
31 New England Patriots- Casey Hayward CB- Vanderbilt
Heyward isn’t afraid to make a tackle and is a fair ball hawk.
32 Green Bay Packers-Cliff Harris CB- Oregon
Harris can help an old secondary and also return punts if needed.

They simply need too much to pass on the likely massive offers they should get for the rights to that pick.
