AFC Predictions for the upcoming season

July 9th 2010 14:31
Here are my AFC predictions. What I will tell is that this could be arguably the stronger conference but it's not going to be easy. There will be division winners only picked just like last time. There is a chance I could be wrong but no one is perfect at it. I will begin with the AFC North, then the South, followed by the East, and finally the West.

2010 AFC North Predictions

I will be honest, it's going to be a very tough division. Cleveland is always going to finish last no matter if they improve. Sad thing is, they could wind up with a .500 record and still fail. It doesn't matter about them since the reason only they were brought back is to be a punching bag for everyone. I thought they would improve but not so sure. Pittsburgh I believe is going to be worse because Big Ben is out for four games due to suspension. I can't trust the Bengals to pull off winning the division back-to-back years. Baltimore probably is the one that takes the division.

2010 AFC South Predictions

I'm not convinced at this moment that there is a team that could go about beating the Colts. The Titans I believe will improve as they did the right thing by benching Kerry Collins. I've never thought highly of Collins and look at him as a guy who gets a contract then simply not perform up to par. The Jaguars are a last place team and Houston is getting better. I don't know if they have enough to get in the race but it's possible.

2010 AFC East Predictions

The Bills I don't see as that good and continue to be terrible. Ever since they got rid of Flutie, they haven't done anything since. Don't expect anything out of them. The Dolphins are a 3rd place team because I'm not sure they have the talent to go beyond that. The Jets are a 2nd place team because right now it's New England's division to lose. I'm not convinced that Brady can be dethroned in that area.

2010 AFC West Predictions

This is a more wide-open division but there are some teams I don't expect to do anything. Oakland still seems like a mess and not a team. I'm surprised Tom Cable is still there seeing how Al Davis likes to fire coaches after one season. Kansas City is probably going to be 3rd because I don't think they're good enough to go beyond that. It's still a rebuild that just doesn't seem to end. Denver gets hot early but cools down late so it's possible they won't win the division. Brady Quinn is there but who cares, he may not even be the starter. San Diego knows how to win in December to claim the division and it's highly possible on that happening.

That's all my picks this year. Most likely I end up getting something wrong.

Collins and the Browns are two dead commodities. The Browns have no weapons on offense, a rookie quarterback, and they have no pass rush at all.
