Can the Packers Stay Undefeated?
November 21st 2011 20:45
Can the Green Bay Packers run the table and stay undefeated in the 2011 NFL season? The short answer is yes but I don’t think they will do that. The Packers may be defeated by their own frozen tundra in a snow game this year.
For the Green Bay Packers to stay undefeated they need good weather conditions for their passing attack led by Aaron Rodgers. I don’t think the Packers have the running game or the defense to win cold weather games. Of course Jay Cutler breaking his finger will help the Packers chances at staying undefeated.
Remember this is a Green Bay Packers team that barely made the playoffs last year before going on their majestic run. Teams like the Carolina Panthers tested the Packers and almost beat them. So I do think the Packers will slip up and lose a game thus ending their hopes of an undefeated season.
And there is the old rest your starters when you clinch home field advantage theory. I don’t know how the Packers stand on that issue but some teams do that and throw the last regular season game or two. I just don’t know if a place in history as an undefeated team is a goal of the Green Bay Packers. They may well rest their good players to avoid injury and to get some playing time for the backups.
