Carolina Panthers 2010 NFL draft needs
March 22nd 2010 14:56
The Carolina Panthers 2010 NFL draft needs are simple and I will discuss them here. The Carolina Panthers need at least two wide receivers in the 2010 NFL draft, then some defensive linemen and possibly a quarterback late in the draft.
Steve Smith has been begging for a fast wide receiver to supplement him and I have the Panthers going that route in my 2010 NFL mock draft with their first pick. Despite the fact that Julius Peppers has gone to Chicago, I think the Panthers biggest need in 2010 is wide receivers.
I have called for John Fox to be fired in the past but he is getting hosed by the Carolina Panthers. Carolina is dumping veteran players like Jake Delhomme ( a good move) and Brad Hoover ( a bad one) and not replacing them. Read here to see my take on the Delhomme release.
The Carolina Panthers 2010 draft needs have to address the wide receiver position. The offense is vanilla enough without Steve Smith being handcuffed each week. Rookie wide receivers tend to struggle but somebody fast could take some pressure off of Steve Smith.
But at the same time the Panthers offense is good enough to win games if Matt Moore is not a bust. The Panthers best positions are running back and offensive line which plays into John Fox’s love of the running game.
The defensive line must be addressed as well by the Carolina Panthers in the 2010 NFL draft. Look for the team to try to find a undersized but fast defensive end in the 3rd or 4th round.
