Is Pete Carroll heading to the Seattle Seahawks? It sure looks that way with the sudden firing of Jim Mora after his first season as coach of the Seahawks. Pete Carroll has done much as a college coach at USC but he was once a NFL coach who tanked.
Pete Carroll can smell the coffee and knows USC is in for some lean years and may be wanting out. Pete Carroll has been a defensive coordinator and a head coach (Jets,Patriots) in the NFL in the past.
Pete Carroll is better suited to the college game where he can recruit in my opinion. It seems his rah rah personality rubs pro athletes wrong but is perfect for college football. He probably does have a good defensive football mind that is suited for the NFL but I don’t think he will last long there.
I look for Pete Carroll to take the Seattle Seahawks coaching job and jump back to the college football ranks in a year or two. I am pretty sure Pete Carroll WILL take the Seahawks job because of how quickly Mora was let go. I didn’t even have Carroll on my list of potential new 2010 head coaches but he will probably be one.
I hate that Jim Mora got fired by the Seahawks and really feel Carroll is the reason. I just hope Mora gets another chance down the road.
