Chiefs Cleaning House
September 26th 2008 22:28
The Kansas City Chiefs are apparently about to commence to cleaning house so to speak. I hate it as a Chiefs fan but I also see the wisdom in it. Apparently they are already entertaining trade offers for Tony Gonzalez the all world tight end.
Tony Gonzalez has been my favorite Chief since Christian Okoye back in the day. I would hate to see him in another uniform. However he has never won a playoff game and he won’t in Kansas City.
I would like to see him traded to a playoff caliber team, one that will throw to him often. The Eagles, Panthers and Jets come to mind. The Eagles run a west coast offense that Gonzalez would thrive in.
The Kansas City Chiefs should also consider trading Larry Johnson while he still has some value. He is disgruntled in Chief Land and may be burned out from all those carries anyway.
As I have said in other posts on Footballdogz.com the team needs a new coach and probably a general manager. I would love to see Bill Cowher come to the team but there are much better choices than their current staff. I would not cry if they brought Marty back for another go at the Chiefs job, though he is a little long in the tooth for rebuilding.
