College Football Picks for Week 5

September 25th 2008 21:28
Good day to you my college football bretheren. As a college football blogger, I feel it is my responsibility to keep with the pro football tradition of picking games with some of my own in the college realm. I will focus in the games that matter in the top 25, if you would like my prediction for any game that I may skip over, just send me a comment.

Also, to get my thoughts on subjects in entertainment that are not football related please visit my webpage: Really Long Link

Now my picks:

#1 USC at Oregon State: Last time the Trojans paid a visit to OSU in 2004, they left with a crushing L...not this time however:

USC 30 OSU 14

#2 Oklahoma at # 24 TCU: TCU hasn't been in this much of a national spotlight since they had a running back known as LT...but it will be short lived:

Okla 28 TCU 21

#9 Wisconsin at Michigan: I predicted earlier this week that Michigan would finish 10th in the Big Ten...it starts on saturday. They do give Wisconsin a fight however:

Wisconsin 17 Michigan 14

#13 South Florida at N.C. State: With a big showdown with Pitt looming, the Bulls will be looking ahead, and coming off a big home upset of East Carolina last week the Wolfpack will take advantage of this contest, which is the definition of a trap game:

My Upset Pick of the Week!!!: #13 USF 13 N.C. State 24

#22 Illinois at #12 Penn State: Both of these teams will finish in the top 4 of the Big Ten... this contest breaks down to this fact: JoePa outcoaches Ron Zook:

Illinois 10 Penn State 28

Game of the Week!!!!
#8 Alabama at #3 Georgia: One can't help but be throughly impressed with the job the Nick Sabin has done with the Crimson Tide in his second year with the program. The Bulldogs still have a chip on their shoulder from their BCS championship snubbery last year as well as their nailbiter with unranked South Carolina. This game will be a classic SEC smashmouth contest but the better team will win:

#8 Alabama 24 #3 Georgia 30

Those are my picks for this week. Disagree? Feeling Argumentative? Want my thoughts on another game? Feel free to comment or visit my website: Really Long Link

Until we meet again...have a great weekend...and watch some games!!!

I can only dream of the day when the University of North Carolina is in the top 25.

When it comes to college football, I have to ask what happened to West Virginia!
