College Football Picks: Week 11
November 21st 2009 14:07
The season has reached its apex. The big ten conference is ending, the conference championship games are on the horizon and the BCS is in flux...welcome to college football.
Well, on to the picks:
#9 Ohio State at Michigan:
The rivalry in sports. From Woody vs Bo, Desmond's Heisman pose, to #1 vs #2 in 2006. This rivalry has defined college football for decades. This also serves as the once chance for Rich Rod's seat to get much cooler...I doubt it happens.
Ohio State 31 Michigan 21
Minnesota at #15 Iowa:
Its hard to call what Iowa is experiencing a "free fall" because they did take Ohio State to overtime in the horseshoe before falling. They still have a strong chance for a BCS at large bid. They will need to beat the Gophers. I say they get it done.
Minnesota 14 Iowa 28
#17 Wisconsin at Northwestern:
The Badgers have turned in another solid season and could be playing for a chance at a New Years Day bowl. They will need to get by the Wildcats...not an easy task. I say they get it done...just barely
Wisconsin 24 Northwestern 21
#11 Oregon at Arizona:
On the line is a trip to Pasadena on Jan 1st. Arizona has come up big this year...playing their way through a difficult schedule has brought them to this point. Also, Oregon is a bit of a schizo team themselves. I predict that the solid Oregon team comes out and gets the job done.
Oregon 24 Arizona 20
Upset Special:
#10 LSU at Mississippi:
LSU has quietly hung their hat in the top 10 even as the country has focused on Alabama and Florida. They are running into a talented...if frustratingly inconsistent Mississippi. I say that the runnin' rebels find the motivation and get it together today.
LSU 23 Ole Miss 30
#13 Penn State at Michigan State:
Penn State is playing for a BCS at large as well, but the road is not easy, going through East Lansing, where the Spartans play exceptionally well. Given the enormity of the situation...Sparty gets it done.
PSU 17 Michigan State 24
