Now we are in the thick of the conference schedules. Last week 2 top 5 teams went down and gave the national title picture a shake. Who will rise this week...who will fall?
On to the picks:
#4 LSU at #18 Georgia:
Georgia has stayed strong in the powerhouse SEC...that helps when you have such a dynamic offensive weapon as AJ Green. LSU is coming off a nailbiter against Mississippi and feels as though they are ranked number 4 by default. They have something to prove...and they get it done.

#8 Oklahoma at #17 Miami:
The dream has ended for the Hurricanes in the form of a bitchslapping at the hands of Virginia Tech in Blacksburg. Now look, Oklahoma (still sans Sam Bradford) comes into "The U" still with national title hopes. Miami and QB Jacory Harris know that redemption is now upon them...and I say they get it done.

#7 USC at # 24 California:
This is the game of the week, with this being an elimination game for one of them. Cal got spanked last week by Oregon while USC is still stinging from that loss against now unranked Washington. This is a statement game for both teams. Cal RB Jahvid Best has always struggled against the Trojans...but this USC team lacks the swagger of years past. Cal gets the huge win that puts them right back in the Pac 10 title picture.

Upset Special!!! Upsets Galore!!!:
#22 Michigan at Michigan State:
There is nothing like cold, hard hitting, Big Ten Football. This is one of the more intense rivalries in the conference and with Michigan flying high once again...I feel the hammer of the Spartans coming down.

#15 Penn State at Illinois:
Penn State must feel like they were punched in the stomach after their national title hopes fall once again at the hands of the Iowa Hawkeyes...They now have to travel to Champaign Illinois to play an always tough Illini team. Illinois still has bowl aspirations and this could be a good first step. I say Penn State continues their free fall.

#24 Ole Miss at Vanderbilt:
Its hard to bounce back from falling 20 spots in the AP poll...but thats what Ole Miss must deal with as they play Vanderbilt. I say they are not able to shake out the cobwebs and the commodores take advantage.

The Battle for Paul Bunyan's Axe!!!
Wisconsin at Minnesota:
The reason I bring this game up is that it is the most played rivalry in college sports. This is also a border battle that can result in some legitimate hatred and as far as state rivalries go the ante has been upped ever since a certain QB from Mississippi abandoned his green and gold brothers to don some purple. I can't recall a time when there was this much tension between the states and this game will be rocking.
I predict that Wisconsin gets a small measure of retribution as they emerge victorious from this the...119th meeting between these two historic programs.
