DeMarco Murray rushed for 253 yard for the Dallas Cowboys against the St. Louis Rams on Sunday. So who the Hell is DeMarco Murray you may ask. Well DeMarco Murray was a third round draft pick out of Oklahoma by the Cowboys this year.
DeMarco Murray ran for over 3,600 yards at Oklahoma and had 50 rushing touchdowns. Murray was also good at catching the ball and had 157 career receptions at Oklahoma. Murray was drafted to be a change of pace type of back to Felix Jones since Marion Barber was released.
DeMarco Murray rushed 25 times for 253 yards against the Rams including one for a 91 yard touchdown. Felix Jones has been battling injuries and hasn’t played well when healthy in 2011
I feel that DeMarco Murray should be the starting running back if he continues to play well, which would allow Jones to do what he does best. Felix Jones is a little injury prone but would excel as a part time player.
Of course DeMarco may be a one hit wonder so to speak. Playing well against a crappy Rams team may not be proof he is starting material. The Cowboys need anything that will improve their offense and take pressure off the much criticized Tony Romo.
