Eagles and Panthers free agency winners so far

The big winners in the 2011 NFL free agency frenzy are the Eagles and Panthers. I also like the moves the Arizona Cardinals have made but I am not sold on Kevin Kolb whom they acquired in a trade from the Eagles. Philly quarterbacks always look worse when not being coached by Andy Reid.
Right now the Philadelphia Eagles are the clear winners so far in 2011 NFL free agency by pickups or trades. The Eagles got rid of Kolb and replaced him with Vince Young who could have a Vick like resurrection of his career in Philadelphia. In the actual trade they got a good corner in Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie plus a draft pick.
The addition of top 2011 NFL free agent Nnamdi Asomugha now gives them room to trade Samuel, Asante. The Eagles also added a good free agent defensive end in Cullen Jenkins showing some love to actually stopping other teams for a change. The Eagles biggest problem is the NFL’s best playmaker DeSean Jackson is holding out.
I have the Panthers at number two as which teams have helped themselves the most this offseason. Carolina opened the check book to sign their own free agents and tie up other players in long term deals. Of course fans were shocked when player rep John Kasay was cut. Kasay was the last original Carolina Panther.
Olindo Mare was signed to replace Kasay. The Panthers have also greatly improved their tight end with the signing of Jeremy Shockey and Ben Hartsock in addition to trading for former Bear, Greg Olsen.
DeAngelo Williams generally thought to be the best free agent running back resigned with the Panthers. The Panthers also got their entire linebacker starting unit signed to long term deals. The most important free agent resigned by the Panthers was defensive end Charles Johnson.
The Cardinals made some moves signing corner Richard Marshal and tight end Jeff King from the Panthers. Todd Heap was their most interesting pickup to me but I don’t know how much the former Raven has in the tank. The Cardinals also got veteran defensive end Vonnie Holiday in a trade with the Redskins for running back Tim Hightower.
The New England Patriots made a splash with trades for Chad Johnson and Albert Haynesworth. Johnson may work out but I always thought he was overrated. Haynesworth probably won’t work out as he hates the 3-4 defense and already made his money.
