Week 12 Fantasy Football advice
November 18th 2008 17:03
This article contains my Fantasy Football advice for week 12 of the 2008 NFL season. I am in three Fantasy Football Leagues and have been playing for many years. Remember to set your teams earlier than usual as week 12 has a Thursday game. Also week 12 of the 2008 NFL season has no byes so you will have full access to your Fantasy Roster.
Quarterbacks to Play
Jeff Garcia of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers would be a guy to highly consider as they are playing the winless Detroit Lions. Tampa is a run first team but Garcia could easily put up 270 yards and two or three scores against Detroit’s secondary.
Trent Edwards is a possible play against the Kansas City Chiefs if you don’t have any favorable matchups. Buffalo started out like gangbusters in the 2008 NFL season but have faltered of late. But nothing cures what ails you like playing the Chiefs.
Kyle Orton is another Fantasy Quarterback who may benefit from a matchup as the Bears are playing the hapless St. Louis Rams. Orton could put up 300 yards and 3 scores if he is healthy.
Tony Romo is a must start against the San Francisco 49ers as the Cowboys are desperate to get their season back on track. I think the 49ers are just desperate to keep Singletary from mooning them again.
Jay Cutler is a must start as the Denver Broncos will be playing the Raiders of the lost Owner, er ark in week 12. Cutler will possibly put up 400 yards passing and 4 touchdowns.
Of course you always want to play your franchise quarterbacks like Manning, Brees and Warner, no matter the matchup.
I would also sit McNabb unless he is all you have. The Ravens are stout and may shut him down.
Running Backs to play
Once again go with your franchise fantasy football running backs that you have to start. These are just some additional options.
Willie Parker looks healthy again and the Steelers are playing the Bengals so I would use him for sure.
Also whoever it looks like the starter for the Bucs, Dunn or Graham or even Williams (if he is going to play) would be a good play in week 12.
Marion Barber is probably your main back but if not use him against the 49ers.
Wide Receivers
Anybody from Denver is a must start for two reasons. No running game so lots of passes. And Denver is playing Oakland.
Braylon Edwards from the Browns has a good matchup with the Texans and should be considered.
Even though the Cardinals are playing the Giants I would start either one of their guys. They are too good to be completely shut down.
Steve Smith from Carolina is due a big game and I have a feeling he will light up the Falcons.
