Brett Favre may come out of retirement

Brett Favre is already thinking of a return to the National Football League, but maybe not with the Green Bay Packers. NFL.com reported here that Favre is working out as if to return to action this season. It goes on to mention that Favre felt unwanted the last few years in Green Bay.
The Packers hold all the cards if Brett Favre comes out of retirement. They have him with 3 years left on a contract. For Favre to play somewhere else it would take his release by the Packers or a trade. To me it does look like the team could care less if he returns. But I think they owe him a few so should give him release if he wants to play.
The thing is the best chance Favre has to win a Super Bowl again would be in Green Bay. However the Packers seem content to give Aaron Rodgers a chance to see what he can do. Putting that off only makes the situation worse. If Rodgers, who has already angered some fans with comments, is a bust, they need to know as soon as possible.
If Favre really wants to play for another team there would be some interest despite it probably only being for one season. I think Tampa Bay would love to have him and he would probably start. As a matter of fact I highly doubt he would go to a team as a backup. He could return to Atlanta where he started his career and groom rookie Matt Ryan. There are two problems with that, Favre may not want to play for such a bad team. And he is not known for playing nice with other quarterbacks and would not do well as a teacher.
There are two teams that I think he would be a decent fit for. First the Kansas City Chiefs really need a guy for any length of time. The Chiefs have some weapons and if they could protect him Favre could score in this offense.
But the best fit would be the Baltimore Ravens, and Favre wouldn’t be as expected to be a role model for other signal callers there. Plus Baltimore while getting long on the tooth is still a decent team. I think the Ravens would be Bret Favre’s best team to join if he comes out of retirement.
