Favre unretired again?

He is retired, no he isn’t yes he is, no he may not be. That’s right ladies and germs the Brett Favre saga is blasting out of the nether regions of Mississippi again. The Drama Queen is back at it again.
Now don’t get me wrong I have all the respect in the world for Brett Favre from the Packers era. However his crying about them not loving him enough really got to me last year. Now he wants to play for the Vikings (he did last year as well) so he can break one off in his former team.
And I really do understand how hard it is to walk away from the game. In other sports there are softball teams, rec basketball leagues and other forms of other sports after retirement. You can play and get some sense of still being involved in whatever pro sport you played. But in football once you walk away that is it. Not too many football leagues for 50 year old men out there.
Now Profootballtalk.com is reporting that Brett Favre will be joining the Minnesota Vikings if he does not need major surgery to resume playing. I don’t think he will as his arm injury may have been a convenient excuse for sucking up the place as a Jet in the latter weeks of the 2008 NFL season.
I would even enjoy watching Brett Favre play again because sooner or later he HAS to retire and we won’t ever see him play again. But I wish he would just be honest about his plans and not have ESPN chasing after him like a bunch of idiots.
It does make sense for the Vikings who have a short window of opportunity to get to the Super Bowl. The pieces are in place for a title run in a weak division of the NFC. Favre will have a training camp and more importantly is back in a West Coast offense. His comfort level is best in that type of system. And I sure as hell will be watching the two games between the Packers and Vikings if Favre is playing.
