Chicago Bears defensive lineman Gaines Adams has died in South Carolina of an apparent heart attack. Profootballtalk.com is reporting that Gaines Adams had an enlarged heart and died in his sleep.
That is the 2nd death of an NFL player in recent weeks with Chris Henry of the Bengals passing away in North Carolina earlier. Gaines Adams was the 4th pick of the 2007 NFL draft by Tampa Bay and went to Clemson.
In 42 games for the Buccaneers and Bears, Gaines Adams had 13.5 sacks, 2 interceptions for 50 yards and a touchdown, 66 tackles and one fumble recovery. Gaines Adams was 26 years old. Gaines Adams’ RIP.
