Gonzalez traded, Jake Delhomme extended

Tony Gonzalez has been traded to the Atlanta Falcons for a 2010 2nd round draft pick. For the whole story click this link to my article about the Gonzalez trade. In my opinion the Falcons just became a Super Bowl Contender. And the Falcons wide receivers are probably very happy to have Tony Gonzalez in the middle of the field helping them out.
In other news Panthers quarterback Jake Delhomme has signed a 5 year contract extension with $20 million guaranteed. Steve Reed of Carolinagrowl.com broke the news on WFNZ today on the Frank and Buck show then Prime Time with the Packman. At least that is where I heard it.
Delhomme had a dreadful playoff appearance last season for the Carolina Panthers and I called for his head after the game. That being said he gives the Panthers some room under the cap that they loaded up when they franchised Julius Peppers.
