Time for the Vikes to sit Jackson

The Vikings talent wise are probably in the top 15 teams in the NFL, front office and coaching drag them down. Building a talented team around a young unproductive quarterback is a recipe for disaster. A not so productive veteran signal caller is almost always the better option.
Tavaris Jackson is overwhelmed at every turn and the team is relying too much on Adrian Peterson. They need to make a move now and go with Gus Ferotte or even better trade for Jeff Garcia. Currently residing in Tampa Bay’s Dog House, Garcia would be a perfect fit in the Minnesota Viking offense. All he does is win football games and make the players around him, play better. I expect they could even get Trent Dilfer out of the broadcast booth if they wanted to.
Chris Simms a former resident in the dog house in Tampa would be a better fit than Jackson at this point in their careers. Simms needs a job and he is probably the best “Street” free agent quarterback on the market. Or they could even offer a little something for Matt Leinart
Personally I would trade for Garcia and start Ferotte until Jeff learns the offense. If nothing else just start Ferotte period. He has passed for over 19,000 yards in his career and a 102 to 91 interception ratio. Gus Ferotte however has always struggled as a starter but often has great games coming off the bench. So they could even consider starting Jackson but using Gus in any game they get behind in.
It isn’t fair to the rest of the team to subject them to an ineffective quarterback who probably won’t get much better this season, if ever. The Vikings have compiled a playoff caliber team except for the most important position. It is time for Tavaris Jackson to sit and learn from the bench. And if the season still tanks let him get more on the job training later in the season
