Philadelphia Eagles defensive coordinator Jim Johnson has passed away of cancer at the age of 68. Johnson was dealing with back pain late last season but realized too late it was caused by cancer.
Jim Johnson was one of the premier defensive coordinators in the National Football league. Johnson ran an aggressive 4-3 defense and blitzed everyone but the water boy. He was all about pressure on the quarterback and his defenses provided that. Sean McDermott will be assuming the defensive coordinator position for the Eagles with the death of Jim Johnson.
Jim Johnson coached at various levels for over 40 years in the sport that he loved. I often picked him as my coach in Madden Franchise mode because he even made defenses better in the video game.
Jim Johnson dead at the age of 68, our condolences go out to his family and may he rest in peace.
