Kevin Jones is a Bear!

Kevin Jones signed a contact to play for the Chicago Bears, and will play his old team twice a season. According to NFL.com Jones will get $605,000 from his one year contract.
The Bears needed a veteran running back and Jones needs to show he is healthy. This is a great deal for both teams. And Jones will get to play his old team the Detroit Lions twice, as they are division rivals of the Bears. And players love to have great games against former teams. To show them they screwed up by letting the player go or trading them, whatever the case may be.
If Jones is ok and has a good season he isn’t tied down with a multi year deal. He can CASH in if he has a good year. If he isn’t healthy or is a bust, the Bears are out a minimal amount of cash.
Kevin Jones will be competing against the rookie, Matt Forte who was drafted out of Tulane. I think a healthy Jones would win that battle for the starting nod. If nothing else he could be a change of pace/3rd down back in a rotation. The job is open after the release of the drunken Cedric Benson.
