Kansas State brings back Bill Snyder.
November 25th 2008 16:13
The AP reported yesterday that Kansas State’s all-time leader in football wins (136-68-1) will come out of retirement for his second stint with the Wildcats. Bill Snyder, now 69, had retired only three years ago after returning K-State to national prominence.
Under Snyder, Kansas State became one of only 6 schools in college football history to appear in 11 straight bowl games (1993-2003). On the flip side, the Wildcats will join only Northwestern as the only programs to have lost 600 games all-time. Ex-coach, Ron Prince, had a 17-20 record and was fired only 3 games into the 2008 season but finished out the remaining games.
Known to build strong programs via the junior college recruiting ranks, Snyder will once again be tasked with turning around the program and building on his earlier success dubbed the “Miracle in Manhattan”.
