Keys to the Game: Browns vs. Steelers

September 12th 2008 22:19
This looks like a bit of a huge mismatch. The Browns have had no luck against Pittsburgh as of late and have to really make a statement in order to prove that they are here to play. Last week, the Cowboys basically slaughtered the Browns with little to no effort. Romeo Crennel got some heat for going for a field goal instead of a touchdown. While the season may be early but Cleveland has to get it together in order to win.

Derek Anderson will need to be sharper because right now he's got the job of being the starter and must prove that he was the right choice. The last thing needed is to hear the world saying Brady Quinn should have started and basically get thrown into the fire. If you don't know history, you're bound to repeat it right? I'm afraid if he got thrown in too soon, it would turn out to be like another Tim Couch situation and that is the last thing the Cleveland Browns need. I hope Anderson rebounds and does better now that he's the man that's supposed to lead the team.

I am expecting the Steelers to be favorites anyway. There are few games I don't think the Browns would be underdogs and that would be against the Bengals and maybe the Ravens but that's a bit of a stretch.

The key is going to be Anderson and the offense getting it started. Whatever problems they have mentally, it's going to have to be fixed for this team to win. Pittsburgh is a good team and I knew going into the season they were the ones you had to beat to claim the AFC North. The streak is going to play a role in it because right now this is a team that needs to get it together now. Again, while I do think the season is early, any win you get now can help you later on during the season. Every loss that happens can bring in more misery and all that hype could go down the drain.

This is critical and just like I've said before, if they fail to make the playoffs, I think Romeo Crennel will get the boot. I just hope that the Cleveland Browns can redeem themselves this time and use that game to push further to the top. It's about proving they can compete with a tough schedule on paper of course. I think it won't be a blowout in the end though.

I have to agree. With all the success predicted for the Browns this season, and after last week, this is a MUST WIN! I don't think they can do it. I don't think the Steelers are that good, I just don't think the Browns are that good!
