Keys to the game: Dallas vs. Cleveland

August 25th 2008 19:51
The Browns open the season against the Cowboys. They are 9-3 given the history of the franchise at home against them so you think this makes them a favorite to win? I don't think so. Dallas isn't exactly a pushover team and have found their best Quarterback since Troy Aikman and Cleveland may have found the Quarterback that can actually last and not fail so much.

The key to this will be the defense. That's right the defense is going to have to make a difference. For Cleveland, it's about an improvement from last season on the defense by not giving up so many points. I personally don't think it matters how many yards they give up as long as there isn't any scoring going on in that respect. However, I do think the defense must get better and I hope it has.

Quarterback will have to play a role. Romo and Anderson both had solid regular seasons and it's going to be a matter of in this game who doesn't make mistakes. Any interception made by either end could be very critical. Derek Anderson will probably be able to play after sustaining a mild concussion in the pre-season. If he cannot, then Quinn gets the ball and has to show what he's got.

The favorite in this game will be Dallas. I just don't believe Cleveland is going to be regarded as a favorite against any of the playoff contending teams from last season considering it could have been considered a fluke if you will.

My only expectation is that the game will be close and right down to the wire. I'm expecting Dallas to win but you just never know until it happens. Maybe the schedule for the Browns won't be as strong as it was claimed on paper.

I agree turnovers will be a determining factor in the outcome. I don't see a blowout happening.

Good call! I think Cleveland definitely needs this game more than Dallas. IF they would eek out a win, it may put them on a good course for the season. If they lose, it'll be just another year for the Browns! I'm figuring a close one too! I'd like to see this game but, living in Pittsburgh, you KNOW what I'm going to have to watch rather I want to or not!!!!!

I think Dallas can take them out, Cleveland is favored at home as of now, but that seems to be there only advatage in being the home side.
