LaDainian Tomlinson has signed a 2 year contract with the New York Jets to be in their running back rotation. His decision came down to the Jets and the Minnesota Vikings after the Chargers released him.
I am scratching my head at the Jets decision to sign LaDainian Tomlinson when they could have kept Thomas Jones for about the same amount of money. Maybe the felt Shonn Greene would respond better with Jones gone to Kansas City and LT in New York.
Tomlinson signing with the Jets gives him at least a decent shot at a Super Bowl Ring. Former Panther quarterback Jake Delhomme gave up a shot at a ring as a backup in New Orleans to possibly start for a shitty Cleveland Browns team. That shows the priority that some NFL players put on winning a Super Bowl.
I am not sure LaDainian Tomlinson signing with the New York Jets will help them much. He is a veteran of a team with a history of choking in big games. Being a native of Texas and playing pro ball in San Diego, LT will have to get used to living and playing in the cold conditions of New Jersey. I also am not sure how much LaDainian Tomlinson has left in his tank but time will tell.
