Ray Lewis has proven to be a liar and will resign with the Baltimore Ravens after previously stating he would rather retire than play for the Ravens. After the Jets got Bart Scott another Ravens linebacker in free agency it became even more important to resign Ray Lewis.
But Ray Lewis is the face and heart of the Baltimore Ravens and it was very important for that reason alone to resign him. Lewis will now probably end his career with the Ravens. According to profootballtalk.com Lewis will be signing a 3 year deal for $22 million, at a later date. They are also reporting that former center Matt Birk has signed a contract with the Ravens as well.. Matt Birk was a hometown boy with the Vikings and I think they lowballed him due to his love of the area. But money apparently won out and Matt Birk has signed with the Baltimore Ravens.
Former New York Jets wide receiver Laveranues Coles has signed with the Cincinnati Bengals to replace T.J. Houshmandzadeh who went to the Seattle Seahawks. Coles was a long time Jet who became disgruntled with the team when Chad Pennington was released to make room for Brett Favre, last season.
