Week One Fantasy Football Advice for the 2009 NFL Season
Here are some tips for your week one fantasy football lineup for the 2009 NFL season. I write numerous fantasy football articles (click my profile) and have played the game for over 20 years. I have examined the week one NFL game predictions and know the current injury situation. I will post any needed updates in the comment section of this article and invite you to check back for those. This fantasy football lineup advice for week one will cover quarterbacks running backs and wide receivers.

Quarterbacks to use in your week one fantasy football lineup

Ok, you always want to use Drew Brees, Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Kurt Warner and usually Phillip Rivers in your fantasy football lineup. . The rest of the quarterbacks I will mention are ones who should have a good game in week one. Of course you are probably limited to two or at best 3 options anyway.

Donovan McNabb will probably start most weeks anyway but use him for sure against the Carolina Panthers. The Panthers have been listless all offseason and have injury concerns on defense.

Tony Romo has looked good in the preseason and will be playing against a Tampa Bay defense which lost some starters in the offseason. Romo is a must start at quarterback in week one of the 2009 NFL fantasy football season.

If you think Brett Favre has been a Viking long enough to have a bond with his receivers, start him against the Browns. Cleveland will be awful this season in all facets of the game.

Matt Hasselbeck is back and healthy and I think the Seahawks will have a good season. Start Hasselbeck in your week one fantasy football lineup as he is playing the lowly Rams.

Aaron Rodgers will be a decent start against the Bears whose defense is overrated and getting old. You may also want to try Cutler against the Packers who have a new defense to iron the kinks out of. However Cutler does not really have a good receiving threat, so that must be considered.

Running Backs in your week one fantasy football lineup

You always want to use certain backs like Adrian Peterson, DeAngelo Williams and Matt Forte who will have huge fantasy football seasons in 2009. .

Ladainian Tomlinson made noise about being the best running back in the game and now will have to back it up. He will do so against the Oakland Raiders and is a must start in week one. Use LT early as he tends to get banged up later in the season.

LeSean McCoy or Michael Westbrook, whoever starts will have a good game against the Panthers who have huge holes in their run defense.

Look for both Dallas Running backs to do well against Tampa Bay, Barber has something to prove this year and he will do that.

Ronnie Brown for the Dolphins should do well against Atlanta whose defense is suspect.

Wide Receivers for week one fantasy football

As you can read here in my fantasy football wide receiver rankings, there are certain players you ALWAYS start. Now I will tell you of some guys you may not use every week but should in your week one fantasy football lineup.

Chris Henry is back and had a good preseason and the guys/gals at Bengal World News radio show love him. IF Palmer is going to start I would pick Henry as one of my wideouts this week.

Robert Meacham had a great preseason for the pass happy Saints who are playing the Lions. Detroit picked up every defensive back with a pulse to try to improve their pass defense, but it won't jell quickly.

Bernard Berrian is a nice pick to play against the lowly Browns and should be Brett Favre's top target.

Derrick Mason should have a good game against my Kansas City Chiefs who are not noted for their defense these days.
