Jason Campbell will be on the trade block now that Donovan McNabb has been traded to the Washington Redskins. I had Jason Campbell rated as the 2nd highest free agent quarterback in the 2010 NFL season but he was restricted and has no offers that I know of.
The Donovan McNabb trade opens the door for Jason Campbell to be traded and get a fresh start on his NFL career. Campbell is the most underrated quarterback in the NFL, and has 55 touchdown passes against 38 interceptions in his career. This is despite changing coaches and offensive coordinators more than his socks in his years with the Redskins.
Give Jason Campbell a decent offense and two seasons in one system and he could be a very steady NFL quarterback. Look for the Redskins to shop Campbell to the Bills, Raiders and Rams, the same teams that were rumored to be interested in Donovan McNabb.
But the team that could benefit most from Jason Campbell becoming available due to the Donovan McNabb trade is the Pittsburgh Steelers. With Big Ben’s career in doubt due to sexual assault allegations, Jason Campbell would be a perfect fit for the Steelers. I think teams will wait on Campbell to be released however a trade to the Bills could go down.
