Steve McNair murdered!
July 4th 2009 22:52
Former Tennessee Titan and Baltimore Raven quarterback Steve McNair has been found dead in Tennessee of a gun shot wound. Steve McNair was found shot to death with a (so far) unidentified female in a Nashville Tennessee condo. At first it was being reported as a murder suicide but now is being called a double homicide.
Steve McNair is one of 3 NFL quarterbacks (along with Steve Young and Fran Tarkington) to throw for over 30,000 yards and rush for 3,500 yards. McNair played 13 seasons with the Titans and Ravens, leading the Titans to a Super Bowl loss to the Rams. McNair completed 2,733 of 4,544 passes for 31,304 yards with 174 touchdown passes in his career.
Stave McNair was 36 years old when found shot to death in a Tennessee condo complex. His NFL career was cut short by some injures he suffered. McNair came too late to be one of the pioneer African American Quarterbacks but he did help expand the foothold established by earlier players.
Early in his career with the Titans he was known as a scrambling quarterback. But that changed as he learned the game and as injures slowed him down. By the time of his retirement from the Ravens, he was a solid veteran pocket passer with a steadying presence in the locker room and on the field. Steve McNair found dead of a gunshot wound in Nashville Tennessee at the age of 36.
