Urban Meyer quits as coach of Florida
December 27th 2009 01:14
Urban Myer has stepped down as the head coach at Florida, possibly due to health concerns. When a celebrated coach quits unexpectedly like Urban Myer did it is a sure sign of either moving to the NFL or health problems. Profootballtalk.com is reporting that Urban Myer may have resigned due to a heart problem.
Urban Myer has had an amazing career as a college football coach at Florida, Utah and Bowling Green. Myer loved a wide open shotgun based offense that Tim Tebow and others thrived in.
Urban Myer is a top coach and would be welcome in the NFL or at another college should he get his health issues fixed. Let’s hope he does this or even if he does not coach again, that he can get his health under control. College football won’t be the same now that Urban Myer has quit as the head coach at Florida.
UPDATE
Coach Meyer has changed his mind and is taking a leave of absense. He now plans to coach Florida again in the future.
