Who will sing for NBC?
March 17th 2009 23:24
Considering the excitement created by the upcoming NCAA Tournament, it's easy to forget NFL action will return in less than six months.
Some big questions loom over the season--what will happen with the Browns? What's the story with the Cowboys? What about T.O.?
Here's a question I'll bet you haven't thought about--who's gonna sing the theme for NBC Sunday Night Football?
NBC seems to be stuck on female singers. So far they've used Pink and Faith Hill--both attractive but both personifying different genres of music.

Doing the theme for Sunday Night Football is a pretty good gig--if you're into the show business thing--the money isn't bad, the work is steady and it keeps you close to home. The down side is that you have to do a different song every week.
So, is there a singer who wants to stay home?
My answer to that is "YES."
I don't follow show business gossip so, if this has been announced you can stop reading. If not, and your curiosity is aroused, my pick is Beyoncé Knowles.
Why Beyoncé? First of all, using the attractive singer would follow the line NBC is establishing for itself with knock out female vocalists. Secondly, featuring Beyoncé, who wed rapper Jay-Z, would bring some street credibility to the network. Along those lines, this would also bring another style of music into the fold. Finally, Jay-Z may want Beyoncé close at hand and this is one answer to that problem.
Okay. There's my case. Who do YOU think will sing this year?
