NFL Freeagent Signings- Wide Receivers and Tight Ends

June 30th 2008 14:12
Part two of the footballdogz.com review of 2008 NFL Free Agency signings. This will cover wide receivers, and tight ends. I will discuss interesting player moves. All information about the free agency signings comes from

Bernard Berrian has left the Chicago Bears for the greener pastures offered by the Minnesota Vikings. He makes more money but his stats may suffer more, due to even worse quarterbacking than in Chicago.

Marty Booker who had some good seasons in Chicago about a hundred years ago, returns to the Windy City. He was with the Miami Dolphins last year.

Isaac Bruce a long time Icon with the Rams has headed west to San Francisco. I don’t know how much he has left in the tank, but he could have a productive season.

Antonio Bryant who set out of football last year has joined Tampa Bay. His attitude may get him blackballed one day. However when he wants to be, he is a great player.

D.J. Hackett has left the Seahawks to join the Carolina Panthers. I heard Steve Smith talking about how good of a camp Hackett is having. Smith was being interviewed on local radio station WFNZ.

Bryant Johnson has left Arizona for San Francisco, Johnson has talent but was behind two great ones with his old team. I think he could possibly have a career season in 2008.

Jerry Porter leaves Al Davis’s dog house in Oakland and goes to the Jacksonville Jaguars. I believe Porter will be the NFL comeback player of the year in 2008.

Donte Stallworth has left Spygate and a perfect regular season behind him to join the Cleveland Browns.

Javon Walker got his release from Denver and has joined the Oakland Raiders. The beatdown he got in Vegas the other day should not prevent him from having a good season.

Anthony Becht a long time Tampa Bay player has joined the Rams. He is mostly a blocker and could help out their running game.

Bubba Franks has left the frozen tundra of Green Bay to join the New York Jets. Big Bubba has been fading the last few seasons, so I am not sure how much of a factor he will be.

Alge Crumpler has left the Falcons after many productive years to join the Titans. Vince Young will have fun throwing to this talented tight end.

Marcus Pollard has left Seattle and went about as far as he could go, to the New England Patriots. Pollard has had some good quarterbacks throwing to him. Manning, Hassleback and now Brady.
