This article you are reading is a 2009 preview of the AFC North Division of the National Football League. At the end of most of the team descriptions there is a link to a full individual review.
The Pittsburgh Steelers fresh off a Super Bowl win are the crème of the 2009 AFC North Division. Big Ben Roethlisberger and Willie Parker are back healthy and will lead the Steelers back to the Super Bowl following the 2009 NFL season. The defense is still sound and the offensive line should be improved enough that the Steelers will win the AFC North Division easily in 2009. See the 2009 Pittsburgh Steelers review here.
The Baltimore Ravens showed some spunk and a nasty defense and played well with a rookie coach and quarterback last season. Losing their defensive coordinator Rex Ryan to the Jets will hurt the Ravens in 2009. I just don’t seem them producing enough offense even though Flacco is a keeper. Baltimore should go 10-6 and contend for a wildcard playoff spot. But they won’t win the 2009 AFC North Division. See the 2009 Baltimore Ravens preview here.
The Cincinnati Bengals are bad but at least they are not the Browns. Carson Palmer should be back but his best receiver is with Seattle now. The Bengals at least play hard but won’t compete for a playoff spot in 2009. Here is the 2009 Cincinnati Bengals preview.
The Cleveland Browns purged their roster under new head coach Eric Mangini. The house cleaning was needed so the rebuilding process could begin. Cleveland has an average defense and a terrible offense so they should bring up the bottom of the 2009 AFC North Division.
