Funny story about TO and the Dallas Star

October 3rd 2008 21:02
I heard a funny story about Terrell Owens and the Cowboys star incident, today. I was listening to WFNZ (a Charlotte sports station) when former San Francisco 49er and Carolina Panther Brenston Buckner was asked about it. To refresh your memories a few years ago TO spiked the ball on the Cowboy star in the end zone and on the 50 while playing for San Francisco.

I am paraphrasing what he said here. Buckner said, “After the incident in the end zone some 49er players were angry over disrespecting the Cowboys. Head Coach Steve Mariucci had some words for his offensive line. He told them if Terrell Owens scored again to tackle him. He wanted it to look like they were congratulating him but to restrain him and bring him off the field.”

I find that funny as hell.. They didn’t do it and TO got away and went to the 50. George Teague attacked Owens there and was ejected. Owens was then suspended for one game and fined a game check by the 49ers.
