What were the Packers thinking?

Like most fans I am an excellent arm chair quarterback, coach and general manager. I am gifted with 20/20 hindsight and always know who I should start in my fantasy league, as soon as the games are done that week.
However the Green Bay Packers now have a serious quarterback problem that could have been avoided easily. No I am not talking about Brett Favre and his situation that was handled badly. By the way I think trading him was the right thing, they should have done it sooner.
What I am talking about is keeping Aaron Rodgers and two rookie quarterbacks on their roster. Ok they apparently were satisfied that Rodgers would work out and he has. He may not be Brett Favre but he isn’t Scott Campbell either.
Maybe they were prepared to sink or swim with Rodgers and that is fine. But Brett Favre spoiled them by not missing games. Most teams need two quarterbacks or more in a season due to injury.
And Aaron Rodgers was injured Sunday in the Tampa Bay loss. As of the time of this writing the extent of the injury is unknown. What is known is that he injured his throwing shoulder and then returned to the game and injured it further.
Now it is possible that he won’t miss any time with this injury but he could always go down again. According to the depth chart on the Green Bay Packers site, they have two rookies behind Rodgers.
Matt Flynn a 6ft 2 222 pound quarterback from Louisiana State was picked in the 7th round and is listed as the number 2 quarterback. Brian Brohm who is 6ft 3 and 223 pounds who attended Louisville is the 3rd stringer.
Now Flynn and Brohm were fine college quarterbacks but are unknown in the pro ranks. A playoff contender owes it to their players and fans to have adequate players at the qb position. I think even if Aaron Rodgers is ok the Pack need to sign a veteran just in case he is needed.
