Pat White is THE rushing quarterback
November 22nd 2008 20:53
You can probably read about this tomorrow in the newspaper or ESPN.Com but I wanted you to hear it here first!
West Virginia University quarterback Pat White became the NCAA's leading quarterback rusher this afternoon as the Mountaineers went into Louisville and defeated the Cardinals 35-21.
White ran for 200 yards and three touchdowns to give him 4,292 yards for his career which broke the record of 4,289 set by former Missouri quarterback Brad Smith who had 4,289 yards during the 2002-2005 campaigns and culminated in being drafted buy the New York Jets. Three yards may not be that much but, remember White still has two games to play plus the possibility of a third if WVU gets a bowl invitation.
Today's game set the stage for West Virginia's next game. The annual "Backyard Brawl" with bitter rivals the Panthers of Pittsburgh University.
