AFC East Preview
August 18th 2008 16:57
Ok folks I will be previewing all the NFL Divisions for Footballdogz.com and predict how each team will fair in the 2008 season. The first in this series of articles is a preview of the AFC East. The NFL teams in this AFC East Division are New England, Miami, New York Jets and Buffalo.
New England Patriots
The Patriots will finish first in the AFC East in 2008, not a shocking prediction I know. They have too many guns and are still the big dogs on the porch. Tom Brady, Randy Moss and the boys will finish 14-2 and win the Division.
New York Jets
My prediction is that the Jets will finish 2nd in the division with an 11-5 record and probably get a wild card berth. The Jets were very active in player moves this offseason. Adding Kris Jenkins, Alan Faneca, Jessie Chatman, Bubba Franks and Bart Starr, er I mean Brett Favre. I think Favre will have a decent season but will struggle early because of a new offense. Look for Thomas Jones to put up 1,200 yards rushing or better this season.
Miami Dolphins
The fins have also been busy this offseason. Adding deposed Jets Quarterback Chad Pennington and trading Jason Taylor to the Washington Redskins. Ricky Williams is looking good in preseason and he may be a factor in 2008. Bill Parcells and new coach Tony Sparano will turn the Dolphins around but not in one year. I predict that they will finish 8-8 this season and be much more competitive.
Buffalo Bills
I don’t know what to think about the Buffalo Bills other than uggg they sure waste a lot of talent. Lynch can be a force at running back in the NFL and Lee Evans is as good a receiver as most. They need to settle on a good quarterback and then work from there. I sense a nose dive coming and a 5-11 record. Look for them to be in the market for a coach next season, can anyone say Bill Cowher?
