Brady Quinn out for the year
November 27th 2008 10:53
Brady Quinn’s starting job in 2008 didn’t last long as he is now on injured reserve and is out for the season. Quinn broke his index finger and will miss the rest of 2008. He didn’t play awful nor did he play well in his brief time as a starting quarterback this season.
He completed 45 of 89 passes for a respectable 518 yards and two touchdown passes. He also had two interceptions and his 50.6 pass completion percentage is a little low. But the Browns probably lead the league in dropped passes.
Not since Bernie Kosar has a Cleveland Browns quarterback been as hyped as Brady Quinn. He is the only backup quarterback that I can remember that had a National Television Commercial.
Derek Anderson having a career year in 2007 kept Quinn on the bench during his rookie season. Anderson sucking gave Quinn the job this year. As bad as the Browns are it may be better for Quinn to sit out the rest of the season and watch Anderson. Now that Quinn got a little taste of starting he will be better able to process what Anderson is doing, and it will help Brady learn faster
