Randy Moss coming out of retirement
February 14th 2012 12:42
Randy Moss wants to come out of retirement in 2012 at the age of 35. As a matter of fact Moss announced on his 35th birthday that he wanted to come out of retirement and hinted at wanting to return to New England.
Randy Moss last played in 2010 and with three different teams due to his attitude getting him traded or released by the Patriots and Vikings before ending up with the Titans. Randy Moss ended up with 28 receptions for 328 yards and 5 touchdowns during his last season.
Randy Moss is perhaps the most physically talented wide receiver to ever play the game. But his admission to taking plays (and perhaps years) off has hurt his chances in the NFL. And when a wide receiver loses his skills, he loses them fast. Sitting out a year could only have hurt Randy Moss and like Terrell Owens his attitude over the years is hurting him when it comes to finding a NFL team that wants him.
If Randy Moss can still run then he may get a chance to make a NFL team in 2012. But Moss was mostly a decoy when he played in 2010. To be a good decoy he actually has to be productive when the ball is thrown to him as well.
What teams may be interested in Randy Moss? I would have to say his best chance at making a comeback would be with the Patriots or Rams. Randy Moss clearly loved playing in New England and the Patriots could use a healthy Randy Moss. Jeff Fisher gave Moss a chance in Tennessee and now Fisher desperately needs wide receivers with the Rams.
