The San Diego Chargers have fired defensive coordinator Ted Cottrell and replaced him with Ron Rivera. So in this wacky fire the coach season it is not just head coaches who get the ax.
I think Rivera is getting a look as a possible replacement for Norv Turner who once again has led a team in a downward spiral. If the Chargers will fire Marty Schotenheimer then they won’t hesitate to fire Turner.
I would not be shocked to see Wade Phillips take over the Chargers next year. The Cowboys will be letting him go, and he had some success there as a defensive coach.
Phillips recently took over the reins of the Dallas Cowboy defense after several subpar performances. The defensive coordinator of the Cowboys, Brian Stewart is also a phone call away from unemployment
