Saints and Colts in the Super Bowl

January 25th 2010 14:06
to Super Bowl XILV in Miami. The Vikings-Saints NFC Championship Game was the best ever in some people’s minds. The New Orleans Saints beat the Vikings in overtime 31 to 28. I didn’t miss the score too bad when I predicted here that the Saints would beat the Vikings 28-24.

I also extend congratulations Congratulations to the New Orleans Saints on beating the Minnesota Vikings to advance to Brett Favre, Adrian Peterson and the entire Minnesota Vikings team for their reaching the NFC Championship game and playing so well. I think Brett Favre should return in 2010 and play one more season for the Vikings. Brett had probably the best season of his career and I see no reason for him to retire, again.

Pierre Thomas was a big reason for the Saints defeating the Vikings in the 2010 NFC Championship Game. While he didn’t have the great season I predicted here, Pierre Thomas was a huge factor in the Saints making it to their first Super Bowl.

Adrian Peterson once again showed his tendency to fumble or make a big play, it seems he does one or the other quite often. Adrian Peterson fans ripped me for saying Chris Johnson is the better running back, but like I say, great backs don’t put the ball on the ground.

I wonder if Archie Manning will be real upset if his son Peyton loses to the Saints. The Manning’s are an institution in New Orleans and Peyton already has one Super Bowl Ring. I bet even Peyton would pull for the Saints against any other team but his Colts.

But Peyton Manning is the best quarterback in NFL history and I don’t think the Saints can stop him in Super Bowl XILV in Miami. The Colts are a little banged up but they are very good on offense except at running the ball. The Colts defense, like the Saints, is just good enough to compliment the offense. I will be doing an extended preview of the Saints vs. the Colts in Super Bowl XILV, soon.

Hmm. This is interesting. I'm going to take the Saints. I can remember when they were called the "Ain'ts" and I think they're going to be a bit more hungry. I'll go with them IF they don't choke. The first two times the Colts have the ball should tell the tale. If the Saints' defense can get after Manning early on and keep it up, they can pull it off.
