Santonio Holmes traded and suspended

April 12th 2010 16:12
Santonio Holmes has had a big week. Santonio Holmes has been traded to the New York Jets and also suspended for four games for violating the NFL substance abuse policy. According to profootballtalk.com Holmes is the first Super Bowl MVP to be suspended and if he fails another drug test, Holmes will be banned for one full NFL season.

Santonio Holmes is certainly an exciting player and his trade to the Jets will make them better once he hits the field. I guess the Steelers wanted to trade Santonio Holmes to the Jets to clean up their image but as you can see here I consider them to be a dirty franchise.

The Jets are one of the most Super Bowl hungry teams in the NFL and adding Santonio Holmes to the roster is a step in that direction, if they can keep him clean. Maybe he can help coach Ryan lose some weight with a “special diet” that Holmes can recommend.
