San Diego Charger shot
July 12th 2009 00:48
Another football player has been shot, rookie Chargers running back Curtis Brinkley was shot multiple times in Philadelphia, Friday morning. Curtis Brinkley a rookie free agent with the Chargers and a Philly native is in stable condition.
The San Diego Charger was shot while in his car at an intersection. The shooter drove away and police have no motive or suspect at this time.
Coming on the heels of the Steve McNair shooting this once again calls attention to the fact that violence can reach anyone. No I am not going to go on an anti gun rant like Mike Florio did at Profootballtalk.com recently.
After the McNair shooting Florio used his football website to further a political agenda regarding guns in America. But Hell if liberal media giant NBC was my partner I would probably do the same thing.
Let’s just hope Curtis Brinkley is the last football player to be shot and that he recovers in time to try to get his NFL career started. Then again getting out of the hospital alive may be his number one priority at this point.
This NFL.com story on Brinkley being shot points out that several San Diego Chargers have been shot in recent years. This also brings to mind the tragic loss of Sean Taylor the Washington Redskin shot and killed in his home
