Should the Browns Consider Trading Anderson?
December 6th 2008 22:47
As you all know, Derek Anderson is out for the rest of the season. The worst part was he got cheered getting injured as if they were blood thirsty. Now, that is not a true reflection of all Browns fans because some would not root for an injury. I can speak for myself and say they shouldn't. I will however state I do not feel that some fans never gave him a fair chance and was too focused on wanting Brady Quinn as the guy.
It sounds like when there are two kids, the parents favorite their own child over the step-child. That's what Derek Anderson had been and that's a shame. It is sad that it become a situation where it would be about who is the guy they want leading instead of going with the right choice in the end. Granted, this is not a bash on Quinn and I hope he does well when he gets his chance at starter but I feel he was given the savior title way too soon.
I feel that he should be traded mainly because of that and he'll never be accepted in Cleveland. The sad part is he could go to another team and be a super Quarterback having people in Cleveland thinking "what were we thinking running him out of town." I know for sure I would.
What can you get for him? I don't know what you can get but as far as the NFL Draft, it doesn't matter to me as long as they get players that can play the game and also do a good job with what they are supposed to do. Granted, rookies can struggle but at least show some signs that you have what it takes.
Romeo I'm sure will be gone and Phil Savage is one I'm not sure on but that's another story.
Whatever the case maybe, I hope the Cleveland Browns can get it together and actually look like a team that wants to win. This season doesn't look like and I doubt they're gonna be ready for the Titans. That game I expect them to get demolished.
I think they probably will entertain the thought and probably may do so not because of his performance but because of how hated he is in Cleveland no matter what he does.
