State of the Cleveland Browns
September 25th 2008 19:09
As if you couldn't expect things to get any worse, Cleveland is now 0-3. I have one question: How long before Romeo gets the boot? The salt is being poured on Cleveland's wounds as you can see. Instead of the Keys to the game, it's going to be a look at the Browns and what exactly is going wrong. Anything you can say that has gone wrong, has done so. The culture of failure has been enhanced even further and continues to add to the part of Cleveland can't win under pressure.
This game with the Bengals is about fixing problems with this team. Do they hate each other or something? You have to wonder sometimes with this Cleveland team. I'm not blaming everything on injuries but it has been a trying time. I do have to wonder why is it that Cleveland seems to get riddled with injuries. Personally, it makes no sense and whatever is causing this to happens needs to be stopped and keep it away. Injuries are going to happen yes, but if there are some bad trainers in the organization, then get some better one.
The city hasn't had a real good run with the NFL since the return to the league. I consider them personally the second Cleveland Browns team while the original was finished the day Modell took the team away and moved them to Baltimore. At least he didn't get the name but I digress. The playoffs are out of the picture but sometimes they say there is a first time for everything. With an 0-3 start, they have maybe a 1% chance of making it and for that to happen, it would require at the minimum winning 10 of the next 13 games to 10-3. I know what you're thinking, they had that last year and didn't make it. True, but usually 10 wins can get you in, shoot sometimes 8-8 if in the event most teams are lousy can get you in but not very deep in the playoffs.
Romeo better be smart in this case. There cannot be anymore room for failure. To salvage this season, they must find out a few things. Can Anderson get himself together mentally? Will the offense and defense bother showing up anymore because it sure seems like it has become non-existent.
I have said it once and I will say it again. I do not care who the starting Quarterback is as long as that person gets the job done. Should it matter if Brady Quinn or Derek Anderson at the helm? No but it does to some people. I don't understand it but it is what it is.
Romeo better win or his seat is going to be hotter than the sun.
P.S.: I know he seems unmotivated and that is true. He does have that look on his face that he is not motivated and/or doesn't care. I'm aware of that but wanted to focus more on the Browns.
