Super Bowl Picks

September 1st 2008 18:41
It's time that all ready to find out who is going to the Super Bowl this year. At this very moment, Dallas, Pittsburgh, and San Francisco are tied with five Super Bowls a piece. Nobody has won more than that and it has become a question of who can pull it off. In order to get an observation on this, it's time to take a look at the whole AFC.

Last season saw the Patriots go 18-1 overall losing in the Super Bowl and would be considered the favorites to go to the Super Bowl and potentially win it. There will be competition in the form of the Colts and possibly the Chargers. As much as I would like to mention the Browns, I just don't feel they are up for that task just yet. I do give them another year but then again could turn around and surprise you.

My pick right now would be for New England. Until somebody comes along and stops them in the season big time, I just have a feeling that they will go back. The Colts tend to blow it in the playoffs. Last season they got hit with karma by not playing the final game and got beat by the Chargers.

AFC Pick: New England

Now, let's move to the NFC. The Giants would be somewhat considered a favorite considering they did go to the Super Bowl. With them losing starters, it comes down to how much depth they really got. The stiffest competition to making it this year would be the Dallas Cowboys. That's right, the same Cowboys that haven't won a playoff game in over ten years. For those who say he can't get it done, I bring up Peyton Manning as a very good prime example. How many times did he fail until he got it done? Exactly my point.

I don't believe the Packers would have gone and the same could be said for the Vikings. I suppose if there is any other team that could challenge, it would be the Seattle Seahawks. From what I've seen, got a pretty solid team going for them.

I don't know much about the NFC South having it. There is New Orleans and Tampa Bay as the primary challengers for that division. I suppose it just depends on perspective on where they stand. It's a matter of actually a whole season.

NFC Pick: Dallas Cowboys

Seeing both teams in the Super Bowl would be an epic battle. Dallas isn't some pushover franchise and I would hope that whoever is in charge of making the bets would be a bit reasonable and not go overboard like they did with the Giants/Patriots game. It will be close but I do believe perhaps in a stunning upset, the Cowboys could take it but not by a huge score.

My husband is a 49ers fan and my kids are Raider fans. They'll be heartbroken you didn't pick one of their teams! Oh well....

It is hard to argue with New England but I am going with the Colts and the Cowboys. Though the Eagles may go instead.

Interesting. It's hard to argue with the Pats. NFC--I don't know. Why not the Cowboys? There's not a dominant team in the NFC so...I think the conference is up for grabs.
