Footballdogz.com spotlight on Lynn Swann

From time to time I spotlight a player or coach from the past or present. This player spotlight is on NFL Hall of Fame player Lynn Swan
.
Lynn Swan was known for his acrobatic catches with the Pittsburg Steelers, and for getting injured often as well. His career statistics were ok, 336 catches for 5,462 yards and a pretty good number of 51 touchdowns. He was voted into the NFL Hall of Fame before John Stallworth which is just stupid.
He was little and fast and could make a the great catch, but he always seemed injury prone to me. And he didn’t like being hit but hell who does? He was so quick and graceful he didn’t have to take too many hits anyway.
Lynn Swan helped the Steelers win 4 Super Bowls in the 80’s and teamed with fellow NFL Hall of Famers, John Stallworth and Terry Bradshaw to give the Steelers a potent passing attack.
While I don’t have a problem with him being in the Hall of Fame there is no way in hell he should have made it before John Stallworth. But the way it works if you played more than 2 games for Pittsburg in the 70’s you get voted in lol. Those Steeler teams produced many great players.
Yes I am a little bitter against those teams as I was a Dallas Cowboys fan at the time. Pittsburg mugged Dallas twice in the 70’s for Super Bowl wins.
