Jason Taylor traded!
July 21st 2008 13:51
Jason Taylor got his wish and is out of Miami and now is a Washington Redskin. Injuries led to this trade when the Skins got desperate for some Defensive Line help. Phillip Daniels and Alex Buzbee both were lost for the season on the first day of training camp.
Taylor had been disgruntled with the Dolphins and vise versa. Bill Parcells of the Dolphins waited until somebody needed Taylor badly and then traded him. Miami gets a 2nd round draft choice in 2009 and a 6th round pick in 2010 according to NFL.com.
Taylor has been a beast in his NFL career but he is old at 33 with 11 seasons under his belt, all in Miami. He had a good season last year with 11 sacks but defensive linemen tend to hit the retirement wall all at once. I think he is probably not going to be as good as he was last season.
His mind in on Hollywood and his anticipated future acting career, after being on prancing, er I mean “Dancing with the Stars” in addition he will be doing a position switch. He played right defensive end with the Dolphins but will switch to left defensive end with the Washington Redskins, to replace Phillip Daniels.
