Will Zach Thomas help the Chiefs?
April 13th 2009 11:22
Zach Thomas the veteran Dolphin and one year Cowboy linebacker has signed with the Kansas City Chiefs. Profootballtalk.com is reporting that Zach Thomas signed a one year contract worth $2 million to play for my favorite team.
The Chiefs will be running the 3-4 defense this season and Thomas will be welcomed as a veteran presence in the locker room. However I don’t see where his old ass will help my team on the field. He was slow when he was young and this will be his 14th NFL season and he is 35 years old. I guess he can join Mike Vrabel in the hot tub and nurse injuries with him.
That said I do like Thomas and have for years, I just think he is done. I would be content to let Vrabel (obtained in the Matt Cassel trade from the Patriots) be the old man who helps the youngins.
