Jason Taylor the long time Miami Dolphin made it one injury plagued season with the Washington Redskins. After Taylor refused to join offseason workouts he was released by the Washington Redskins. Taylor is apparently smitten with a career as an actor and put football on the back burner. Jason Taylor will be 35 years old when the season starts and his release by the Redskins probably will conclude his NFL career.
In other news former Pittsburgh Steeler wide receiver Nate Washington has signed a contract with the Tennessee Titans. I had Washington ranked number 4 of the top 5 free agent wide receivers in 2009. The Titans also signed former Tampa defensive tackle Jovan Haye.
According to profootballtalk.com T.J. Houshmandzadeh has signed a contract with the Seattle Seahawks which will pay him $40 million over 5 seasons with $15 million guaranteed. T.J. Houshmandzadeh signing with the Seahawks addresses the most dire need of the team. Last season the Seahawk receiving core was devastated with injuries. With Houshmandzadeh signing this leaves Ray Lewis as the last really big name free agent.
