Terrell Owens released by the Cowboys
March 5th 2009 10:17
Terrell Owens has been released by the Dallas Cowboys! Now he has worn out his welcome with 3 different NFL teams, the 49ers, the Eagles and now America’s team. His amazing talent gets him more jobs in the league and will again, but his mouth gets him gone.
He feuded with his quarterbacks and coaches at each stop, most recently almost having to fight Dallas Cowboys all world tight end Jason Whitten. Owens is one of the most talented players to ever play the wide receiver position but he poisons each team he has played for.
With the trade for Roy Williams from the Detroit Lions last season the Cowboys were putting themselves in a spot to dump Owens. Dallas will take a $9 million salary cap hit by releasing Terrell Owens but they figured it was worth it to get rid of the cancer in their locker room. Owens website still has Dallas Cowboys references on it but I expect that to change shortly.
Terrell Owens is such a rare talent that some wide receiver starved team will give him a shot. And Owens will come in and play hard and keep his mouth shut for a while. It is a shame that he has to be that way. I think he is in the top 5 wide receivers that I have seen play in over 30 years of watching pro football. Terrell Owens released by the Dallas Cowboys.
