Trent Green- I guess you can go home again

Trent Green is once again the starting quarterback of the St. Louis Rams with the benching of Mark Bulger. Green was supposed to be the starter in 1999 but a Rodney Harrison cheap shot put him out for the season. This set the stage for a little known backup named Kurt Warner to show what he could do.
Trent Green then went on to have a decent few years with the Kansas City Chiefs before a series of injuries with them and the Dolphins put him out of commission. Returning to the Rams to backup Mark Bulger, he is now the starter again.
Now I am a Kansas City Chiefs fan so I have watched quite a bit of Trent Green playing. He is gutsy and accurate but not very mobile and one more concussion could really mess him up, forever.
Bulger is a good quarterback but he has seemed overwhelmed in the last couple of seasons. His confidence appears shot and I would love to see him traded to a team in need of a quarterback. It does not make sense for the Rams to pay Bulger his huge salary as a backup. However I am not sure any other team will pay it for him to be their starter. The Patriots do come to mind. But I expect Bulger to be released and then a move made for him by some team. Maybe even the Chiefs which would be ironic, with former Chief Trent Green taking his job.
The Rams are vying with those Chiefs for next season’s number one draft pick, as they are the two worst teams in the NFL. Trent Green could possibly strike a spark and help the Rams win a couple of games. But I really think he is one hit from retirement.
Rams coach Scott Linehan is clearly desperate to try to keep his job and the qb change was made in an attempt to do so. His coaching record is 11-24, he went from 8-8 his first year to 3-13, and is 0-3 thus far.
